I hate that referral crap. You oughta be able to go see whatever specialist you want to see without a referral.

Every state is different with medical insurance and rules unfortunately.

Do NOT use nation wide horse transport. They have numerous complaints against them

No I got some self employed guy from Ocala with a good following. I do have to put a gate in this weekend so she can get in the paddock. The farmer built more fence to cover the area that was mine and actually put a gait in it!!! Lordy , there's a gate on his side but not mine, LOL. So it's on to Home depot for posts and wire. I have several gates. Feed hay, and shavings. 50 pounds of manure a day.
So, the Direct tv people couldn't make up their mind about who does what when, so I went with Dish and they were very professional and nice. The Verizon people I wanted a separate "hot box" in the house. $60. a month. Since I ordered it, I've gotten one "your order is complete" emails followed by 4 "your order is not complete...call...", and the last one is they are holding my order to check for fraud!!! So I emailed them to cancel the order. That is BS!
Add that to the doc's office who needs a referral first to make an appt, and the doc's office that makes me the appt, then asks for a release to get my medical information 2nd. I called 4 realtors in 4 days this past week and not one has called me back. However my next door neighbor the cop, well his wife will clean the house (I will pay). He has 2 friends that are realtors, and a few people interested in the house already. I hope things work out this way. I wouldn't have to go back then. Tomorrow a man is coming to give me an estimate on changing oil heat and hot water and central air to an HVAC system which is heat and air all in one, like central air that also has heat. It seems like all the new homes here have it.

UGH. Switching over to HVAC will cost an arm and 2 legs. IMO it's worth it. Better get several estimates.

Yesterday I worked on the stall. That white shed up front looks awful but under the aluminum is an actual bonafide Pole barn! With really thick poles. So it's worth fixing up to look better. Inside is like 2 stalls on one side and one long area on the back. In the stall I must have pulled over 50 nails. Unreal!. But it's now set up for a horse to live in.
I had a wonderful hunt for hay on Friday. I get this address and directions , probably ends up being 6-7 miles away. But of course I end up ?. So I get my gps on and find that I'm headed in the right direction but from the far opposite end! So it's over the stream and thru the hills and curves and I finally get to the road I turn off on. Then down that road I make a turn onto a road that has a dead end. But I pass that sign and look for a green barn with a pond. And I do find it! Nice farmer, best hay I've seen in years. Well such an adventure.
Last night we went to a tree lighting in the town 3 miles away. The tree lighting was in the town square and they had the marching band from the high school perform nicely. Then of course Santa came. They lit the tree and the town square all at the same time. The square and main street are surrounded by cute little shops that stayed open so we browsed thru them. The lines for food were terribly long. Not used to lines. So afterward we went to Waffle House and had big breakfasts. All the chain stores and eateries are a few miles outside of town, thank gawd.
The night was like a Norman Rockwell moment! Talk about small town festivities, and even the high school band playing. It was fun that was after dark. I had my daughter, and grandson and grand daughter with me.

So I was supposed to have my horse picked up today and I called the guy last night and yesterday 3 times. I asked for Robert. He said his name was Rick and he uses his dead brother's name for Uship. Then he says he's stuck in Wyoming in a blizzard. I said "were you going to call me?" He says he was as soon as he got back to Florida. I cancelled him.
I got another lead on a husband and wife team, one overnight stop. Licensed and insured. So we'll try that one.
Anyone know what I need to cut barbed wire? I have to put a gate up.

Bolt cutters or an electric grinder will cut through barbed wire.

No, I think I found another shipper, and it's a husband and wife.
Well it's been near 20 for almost 2 days. Aside from not going out, the coop stays around 42 degrees when it's 20 outside. Thank goodness something works. I can't wait to do some work on the coop. One area of the floor feels like it's going to give way. But I found some sheets of that cement board that I can repair the floor with. And rebuild the doors in front because they are rotted on the bottom. Then make a few chicken doors that lock closed. Everything else looks good.
I found someone to break down and take an old barn that's like 10 x 20 feet, all rotted. And some brush and branches taken away. That will leave a nice pen area of 40 x 40 feet, mostly fenced already.

I will call the couple tomorrow and see if they're ready. I ordered some wood to fix the coop doors. And some fence wire.

Well horse got here alive and well, and a shorter trip hourly wise. She's taking time to settle but food helps. She has cows next to her . So far- new heat pump system, oil gone, refloor wth pergo entire 1st floor, waiting for plumber, goy new fridge, range, microwave, and now fridge. I think its time for a break. then there's the morning routine which went from letting chicken out, feed horse, take to her large pen, hay, water-if not frozen, clean stall daily.. routine has def. changed!

Cr well, the guy who floored the whole 1st floor with Pergo is done after 5 days. Looks beautiful, very rustic and very low shine. My biggest upset was after he removed the flooring that was there, turns out most of the house was solid oak flooring that could be original and was in good shape. Broke my heart doing pergo over it, but it was my daughter's gift to have the entire kitchen, living room, dining room, mud room, laundry room all the same vs piecemeal. I have a fridge coming Monday and a plumber coming Tuesday to hook up a dishwasher, gas range, 1 toilet, and hopefully a fridge to move. Hopefully I will be taking a break after that and just do nothing for a month or so. I personally need to put up some gates and fencing. And maybe get a prefab horse 2 stall barn delivered. I could build one myself but I am seriously pooped and don't have the energy to do it.
Moving is hard. It takes so long to get things the way you had them, like routines or doctors. I've been hiding to take a nap, LOL. I got lost in the city today, totally stupid. Lost in a city of one way streets! So I ended up an hour late for a doc's appt. At least after being lost, i've learned alot!
It's been very expensive to move as well. I got my florida house up for sale, but slow time of year.

Holy cow Karen. How in the world did you get all that work accomplished in such a short period of time? It mustve cost you a small fortune, good grief. As far as your house in Florida goes, it'll sell soon even if it's winter. My moms house went on the market in late November and sold the first week in February. Dont worry, some yankee from Massachusetts will buy it!
