Is awful no matter what. In this past 10 days, we've had the outside and inside painted, the patio painted, now waiting for the tile guy to redo the tiles in the hot tub. Our sprinkler system developed a short so that needs fixing (as the grass turns brown!). And I have 24 boxes packed so far.
These sellers seem to think that they can start packing whenever!

Sharon and I are taking a 3 day vacation in a few weeks like we did last November. Except this will be a working vacation. We're going to Jamestown, Tennessee to take a look at a house we might buy. We are already putting stuff on Craigslist to sell. We are certain we found the right house and will be meeting the realtor when the time comes. IF we buy it, priority is getting a couple sheds placed on the property. One of the sheds will be a chicken coop. I'm tired of building coops and I plan to make it sectioned like a dog kennel with runs. In any case, here's the house: www.realtor.com/realestateandhomes-detail/224-Victoria-Cir_Jamestown_TN_38556_M78627-39101#photo0

It is a beautiful house ME. I didnt get much sleep last night, tossed and turned all night because my arthritis is kicking in due to the cooler temps. I had pain in my elbows for the first time besides the usual pain in my feet, hands and back. I think this is a wake up call. The reality is that it's going to be much colder if we move up to Jamestown. The whole area is high up on the Cumberland Plateau. There are other things that Sharon and I worked out in order to make the move happen. She is still skeptical and concerned about the medical aspect once we move, and truthfully I am too since were both are getting older.
Also, I'm being selfish in the fact that Sharon invested a lot of money in her moms house getting it back in shape which we are currently living in after her mom passed away several years ago. It's a very nice house inside and out. That said, and just now discussing this with Sharon, we've decided it wouldnt be in our best interest to move.

Beautiful home! Looks brand new. That is a good find. Look up Tenn. medical care on line. I know they have a really good hospital in Nashville. That's all I know. I think you two should discuss it more. I don't think you're being selfish. I would not consider that Sharon improved her mother's house, that is not in the equation of how to live a happy fulfilling life. The medical aspect is important and needs to be researched. Also how easy is it to get to stores. That porch is to die for! Don't let arthritis rule your life. Take a pill. (I live in Florida because I have arthritis???) You may want to chat with Cynthia about how life is with her living in a more secluded area. You and Sharon should discuss the whole thing again just considering the aspects of a fulfilling life and surrounded by beauty. More later!

I would also think about what type of fishing is in convenient area. I don't think you should move to a lake or riverless area.

My close-by date is November 13. They may stretch it out til then. Pi$$es me off that they have nothing to do but pack and get a check from me. I am done and ready to go. I told my RE agent to pass on that I'm sorry I didn't wait til spring because I thought my animals would have time to acclimate. So horse gets a nice warm blanket for nights under 30 degrees or less. And chickens, esp Polish with no protective feathers on their scalps will end up with a space heater on some nights just to take the edge off. I rolled up all my extention cords and seems like have over 10 with a few long high current ones.

I'm excited too. But really stressed over these people and the title company doing nothing the past 30 days! I'm so stressed. I fired them up the other day. I told them MOL that I have a medical condition and need to start treatment asap. So every day it takes them to not be ready means I can't start treatment for one more day. Either I start treatments here or in indiana, and if I start them here, I won't be leaving florida or closing for a few months! It's one or the other now. ( some of this is slightly exaggerated but not much).
Meanwhile, I'm spraying and worming them all, and I can now take some fencing, hardware, doors, gates, etc. Hardware is expensive and I recycle it as much as I can. I don't want to be buying some stuff over again!

Keep on them to get moving. And make sure you are there for the walkthru before you close to make sure they have all their stuff out and didnt cause any damage

Good luck on getting going! Where in Indiana, north or south? I went to college in Indiana.
Best to get in now anyway before it's winter.

My daughter has 3 kids. They will go to college for free in Indiana. Her husband has gobs of family in the area. So it was southern Indiana 10 minutes from Louisville ky.
Looks like I'll get there in the cold but not too cold. And they'll have a coop. Horse will have a blanket.

Still waiting for a closing date. I'm giving my daughter power of attorney so she can do closing, (and notify the elec and cable and internet of a switch on date). It's a good thing I'm not going. I'm too mad. However my daughter has a mouth on her and will find out why the holdup and how it affected us. This way we can be loading right afterword. Life is a mess around here. I am living in rooms of boxes and can't find anything. Everything is covered with things that need to be packed.

Moving is hell, but I think waiting is worse!
I'm now dismantling some pens for the wire. Our handy person took all the cattle fence down - those are 5 x 16 ft each of hard fence that does not bend. Now I just need some gates, my poultry fence, some usable wire fence, and a few choice pieces of lumber and any hardware I can.
I wound up all my heavy duty extention cords never realizing I had 20 to 25!

Now I just need some gates, my poultry fence, some usable wire fence, and a few choice pieces of lumber and any hardware I can. I wound up all my heavy duty extention cords never realizing I had 20 to 25! Hahaha, I can relate with the extension cords, maybe I better take inventory lol. You must be a type "A" person Karen. If you are, I'm the same. My theory is to get everything done so I can goof off with free time, like going fishing for example. Putting things off only accumulates work and can be overwhelming. It's best to wipe it out now and get it done and over with. I dont mind multitasking, I prioritize it. Sharon has finally figured it out lol. I am a 'time' person. My biggest pet peeve is if someone not on time. If they tell me that they'll meet me at a certain time, I expect them to be there at that time. No excuses unless it's a bonafide emergency. If I tell someone I'm meeting them, I'm there 15-20 minutes early. Even with doctors appointments I'm there early and sometimes I get called in early (lucky me.) If they're more than 20-30 minutes late calling me in, I let the doctor know about it and that my time is just as valuable.
