Thanks Dawg. Their nares are super weird, makes them look like vultures a bit.

ME, I see you have Dollarweed in your yard too. Most folks here use chemicals to eliminate it from their lawns which I think is stupid. Dollarweed sucks up rain water like there's no tomorrow, I guess they dont know that. My Barred Rocks love digging it up and eating the long white roots. For the most part, they keep it under control for me.

I don't see any dollarweed, (aka pennywort) I see ground ivy in one picture though. They do look similar but the difference is that the dollarweed is a complete circle where the ground ivy (and similar look a likes like colts foot aka pony's foot and also gotu kola) have a cleft on one side. Dollarweed is good for high blood pressure, edema, it helps wounds heal by affecting the cell membranes around the wound. But sadly I don't see any in your pictures ME. The ground ivy that I do see is good for colds (it's an expectorant) for both chickens and people, it's an astringent, antiseptic and anti inflammatory. If you do find dollarweed, yes, it's good for water, the roots suck it up and hold onto it in case of drought, in a survival situation it can help you keep from dehydrating. The only drawback is it is really super bitter.
(sorry, weeds are my thing haha)

You'd be surprised how many regular old yard weeds that people put poison on to get rid of are actually very useful, healthy for you and medicinal.

Morticia is whiter now Her butt feathers are totally white. Ive had her for a year now, she was one of the 2nd batch i bought from dutch connection farm. She was darker last year with a few white spots but since she is molting her new feathers are coming in more white.

Morticia is molting and turning whiter Her white stripe is getting larger. It's funny you have a Morticia - my avatar is Morticia! She was a beautiful steel blue when I first got her, but she gets whiter every year
