We had a heat index of 102 today, real temp was 97. I mowed the front yard, trimmed a bunch of bushes, weedeat, edged and used the blower. I was soaking wet from sweat afterwards and the shower felt great!

Are you? I may live to regret it, LOL. One good thing is if I move to Indiana, there will be no worrying about how to get to work.

We got to 68 today...yesterday 95, today 68. Low tonight is supposed to be 44, I do have to say it was beautiful temps though, omg so much nicer. I am ready to dig out my sweaters! I do need to clean both coops thoroughly and do the repairs that I have been putting off because of the heat. The upstairs of my chicken coop looks like Halloween with all of the cobwebs going on up there. I am thinking about switching the ducks to sleeping in the upstairs this winter so I only have to run one heat lamp on those bitter cold nights. (I only use it when the temps are below 20, I've had too much frostbite in the past). they can be in the yard and their regular coop and run during the day but sleep in the upstairs of the chicken coop at night. (I'm just thinking out loud lol) They won't likely go out in the yard when there is snow, they are all "allergic" to snow, big bunch of wussy babies. They take about 3 steps out of the run then lay down on their feet and won't budge, I have to pick them up and put them in their run that I cover with plastic so the snow doesn't get in and they are protected from the wind.

Low to mid 90's all this coming week. No autumn here, we'll dive right into winter WHEN and IF it comes.

Sylie shovel paths for them. We shovel.paths so they can come out in the yard when it snows. They love the maze paths lol Yeah I shovel their whole yard but they still do it, one single snowflake touches their toes and that's the end of it. And it's just the ducks, the chickens couldn't give 2 hoots about snow, they just want to know where their grass and weeds are.

One of our weatherguessers mentioned a drop in temps to mid 80's during the day and upper 60's at night early next week! Then she said it was only temporary.
