Yeah it does but lesson learned, if we ever go again, we are going to spring for a campsite so that we can go and cool off, drink, rest etc. and maybe take a few days so that we can see everything that we want to without making ourselves sick.

We went fishing yesterday at the beach on Amelia Island and caught 4 nice Whiting and a few Spadefish. It was partly cloudy skies and no rain. When we first got there shortly after 1pm, there was a hot west wind blowing and then the cool seabreeze kicked in from the east and it brought the fish in with it lol. Hopefully we'll be going out in the boat next Thursday or Friday depending on the weather.

We caught quite a few bait stealing spadefish. I misidentified them them as young sheepshead and they were under the size limit for sheepshead so we were throwing them back in the water. I looked them up on the FWC website and they were definitely spadefish. Come to find out the are very good eating, no size limit, and there's a 100 pound weight limit. The spadefish we caught were "hand size." They will be going in the cooler from now on! Whiting are sometimes called southern kingfish or roundheads and are easy cleaning and excellent eating.

If the weather cooperates this week, I'll be taking the boat up to Fernandina Beach Thursday or Friday to do some fishing at the jetties.

ME, interesting mushroom. I used to get a lot of strange mushrooms when I lived in NY.
Now, I think it's weird, I get a lot of "look alike" weeds. If I have a plant or vegetable plant when I go to weed they are surrounded by weeds that look like the plants they are growing around. I think it's weird.

Jim I wish I lived close enough to go fishing with you. You have such a variety of places to fish. Glad you're catching some good eating fish!
Rain and thunder here. Nothing new!

That's a tough one. The only thing I can think of is like a raised bed, but it would probably be costly building a frame and filling it with sand to be higher than the ground around it.

With sideways rain im screwed. I cant tarp all 4 sides of the runs to keep the rain out as its too humid here. Im hoping for a dry spell of at least a week of high temps to dry everything out

Yes you can ME, just roll the tarps up and use small bungee cords to keep them up. Then when rain threatens, release the bungee cords and tarp rolls back down. Use bungee cords on the eyelets and attach them to chicken wire so they wont blow around in the thunderstorms, works great.

Tarps help with cold winter winds here too, especially when winter cold fronts are passing through (no snow though.) The two tarps on the north side of our pen have been in place the longest, 4 years. They've been through all kinds of crazy weather including two hurricanes. They look a little ragged but are still doing their job, and they are the el cheapo blue tarps to boot lol! Walmart sells a small clear plastic jar full of small bungee cords, they work great.
