Amazing how long your tarps have lasted! I cant say that about the heavy duty tarps on top of the pens though

Last year I wrapped both runs in a semi clear 4mil poly plastic sheeting and stapled it on, they stayed as toasty as they could. I also stacked hay bales around the bottom of the runs to help with insulation and packed snow on the end where the wind hits. They did great. it was always about 5 degrees warmer in the run than outside. Their water still froze but they had bare ground to walk on (my ducks do NOT like to walk on snow). I want to look into heated water bowls for this winter, should would save me a ton of time and effort.

I have a big roll of plastic sheeting. I bought it in case the roof on the house was damaged due to a hurricane or severe thunderstorm. Fortunately I've never had to use it. I've got yard work to do this morning Winter isnt here yet?

We wrap the runs in winter, i was not sure about humidity issues in summer , especially with no breezes

I don't wrap in the summer. I worry more about the heat than the cold. Cold here lasts for about 4-6 hours.

If i poke holes the tarps get ruined fast, the wind here is bad, we are in cow country so the land is all flat and the wind whips around here, the tarps would be ruined fast.
Its sunny here, 90, im hoping everything dries out

Yea empty flat land is a whole nother story. Lot's of wind and sun. I can't live without lots of trees. It's in my blood, LOL.
I've been watching the weather on eastern LI NY and it sounds just like the weather I'm in right now.

We had a bad lightning storm yesterday, along with the rain. It was scary. We got back from fishing earlier and got everything cleaned up and put away before the storms hit thankfully.

More rain - areas near us have been flooded, especially near Seneca Lake. We have been fortunate but I could start a mushroom farm.....

Here in riverhead ny. Heard thunder and lots of lightning last night. Went to polish festival and left right before the thunder and rain. It was nice, hot, sticky, crowded, and smelled like greasy food!

We didn't get any rain or overly hot, it was partly cloudy and around 83 today. I am so anxious for fall!

Sometimes it smells like smoked BBQ here where we live...we like that smell!
