Sylie, it sounds like your weatherguessers went to the same school as ours. Not good.

I'm pretty sure they did. We had a 40% chance of storms this afternoon but it was sunny all day, not a single drop of rain period...

The 14 day forecast says we are going to get into the low and mid 90's and very little chance of rain the entire 2 weeks (10 and 20 percent, I don't count that as a chance). I am down with a raging sinus infection, all 6 sinus's are affected and I'm miserable, going outside is a nightmare so I guess I won't be getting much done out there this week which is probably okay if it's going to get hot and stupid again. The garden is winding down, my husband has been taking care of it for the last 2 days because I can't bear to be outside, the sun and heat make me feel like my head is going to explode. Bending over to take care of plants....hahahahaha nope. Cross your fingers that none of my birds need any special care until this is over. They never really do, but this is exactly the time that one of them will need something haha.
Anyone that wants zucchini, come get it, I have so much of it that I don't know what to do with it, I've made 10 loaves of zucchini bread, we have it for every dinner in some form or another (tonight was chicken stir fry, last night was zucchini chicken soup etc) I'm thinking about making zucchini noodles with spaghetti sauce next. (instead of traditional spaghetti noodles)
I'm not sure why I have so much of it this year, maybe the hot days and cool nights? I don't know, something to do with the weather I'm sure, this has been a very odd year.

Sorry to hear about your sinus infection Sylie. Do you have antibiotics for it? At the very least benadryl to help you breathe and dry up sinus? I hope you get to feeling better.

It's really foggy this morning,I can't see the street. The chickens are hollering to get out but I don't like to let them out when it's like this.As soon as the sun comes up,it'll clear up and I'll let them out.

Dawg, I don't use medications of any kind. I am using herbs and natural remedies (eucalyptus, peppermint, rosemary oils aromatherapy, peppermint tea, rosemary and eucalyptus steam inhalation, tarragon and turmeric tinctures for pain and inflammation) and I feel a whole ton better today. Today was day 5 of it. I think it's going away. I was actually able to go pick some MORE zucchini...I have 14 large zucchini on my counter lol.
Today was nice, a little warm for me but the sun was out and it was breezy so it didn't feel as bad as the 87 the thermometer said it was. I was only outside about 20 minutes though. It's supposed to get hotter over the next few days, STILL no rain in sight. *sigh*

today started out at 6 a.m with a thunderstorm, BIG thunder, my wussy wolf hybrid dog ran in frantic circles barking his head off in fear....mhmm...
It was cloudy and cool until around 1 when the sun came out and turned into a sauna, heat, humidity, miserable.
Tomorrow is supposed to rain again but the temp is only supposed to be 76, I'll have to get my winter coat out! hahahaha

I'm reading this book about a missionary family in Africa 1960's, and the reverend digs a garden and plants seeds and their native "housekeeper" tells him that he needs to plant the seeds in hills. So she goes out one morning and replants his whole garden. He gets mad and moves it all back the way he had it. Well of course torrential downpours washed all the seeds away. He had to rescue what was left and plant them in hills.
Then, his plants are growing like crazy with all the sun and rain and they get buds and flowers that eventually dry up and fall off and nothing gets any vegetable or bean. Turns out the native bees don't recognize the pollen and don't spread it.

I love you people!! It rained off and on all day long, we ended up with over an inch of rain total, each time it rained I said "oh, this one must be from ____ (one of you)" hahaha I'm so happy to have the rain! The ducks were not happy that I had them in their pen all day. I don't like them out when there is lightning.
Thank you for the rain everyone!

We had a bonus extra day without rain Tuesday, a total of 4 days in a row without rain, Yippee! I was able to get alot of work done outside, including putting a new tarp over the small coop/pen. I even broke out the grill and had a BBQ. I'll say this though, it sure was hot and humid, phew! Thank goodness for a/c.

I'm happy . Looks like we had a somewhat dry low humidity afternoon. Good things to come, Lucky you Karen. I'm going fishing tomorrow afternoon at the same place on the beach where me and the guy across the street went last time, south of Amelia Island. Rain and storms are in the forecast, so we'll see. We're looking at taking my boat up to the St Mary's river entrance next week and fish at the jetties up there. There's great fishing around the jetties and not many people fish there.

I took my parents to the state fair yesterday, we haven't gone for several years because their health just isn't there but they think this is the last chance they'll have so I took them, it's a 2 hour drive each way to get there, it was 97 degrees and sunny all day, sunburn, dehydration, heat exhaustion and didn't even get to see half the stuff we wanted to because we were constantly looking for shade and A/C, once we found A/C we stayed in there until we cooled off enough to go another couple of blocks to the next A/C building...wrong day to go that's for sure!
