I wormed my pullets yesterday morning, it was their second worming. The first time was easy, wazine at 6 weeks old. Yesterday it was valbazen at 11 weeks old, 1 pullet at a time and they screamed bloody murder...good grief. I also wormed my 3 Barred Rocks. They are so used to getting wormed that when they see me coming with bottle and syringe in hand, they stand in line with mouths open lol. Well....almost.

ME, at 8 months old they are old enough to worm. They can get worms at 6 weeks old and by the 12th week two generations have propagated. However, if they were raised on wire and not on the ground, it would be a different story.

Yesterday I noticed one of my BR's had pooped green feces and it was solid. That can be a sign of worms and I wouldnt doubt it due to all the rain we've been getting and the fact that I've been letting them out in the yard late in the afternoon. I dosed all 3 of them with Nemex 2 (pyrantel pamoate.) It takes care of the 3 common worms that birds get. If anyone is interested in the dosage; it's 2.5cc's per 5 pounds. I give it orally but it can be mixed in food. I gave them about 3cc's each because they are heavier than 5 pounds. It has to be given 1/2cc or less at a time orally, any more than that, they can aspirate. It can be time consuming but it's a very safe good wormer and great for rotation purposes.

Well I hope it's not worms . I would expect green solid is from the grass. Would be better. But worming is good.

Well I hope it's not worms . I would expect green solid is from the grass. Would be better. But worming is good. The other two are pooping normal color feces and they ate grass also, no green whatsoever. Heck, I'm happy that it's not runny green poop! Gosh it's been raining most of the day, we're tired of the rain. The guessers are saying 70% to 90% chance of rain for the rest of the week. When will it end? UGH.

Time to worm the birdies this morning including the next 2 days....fun fun fun. The BR's are no problem. The Brat Pack is a different story.

I went out early and wormed the girls in the dark. No problem with the 3 BR's. For the most part it went well with the Brat Pack, especially snatching them off the roost in the dark. The Jersey Giant and the Easter Egger did NOT want to be wormed. I think I ended up with more Safeguard on me than them lol. I'm switching to Valbazen tomorrow, less to administer and only need to redose one more time in 10 days.

Oops, you're taking stick tight fleas with you that are on your birds, right? Dont worry, the first hard freeze will kill them deader than a door nail. No more stick tight fleas.

Yea. They form clumps and suck their blood to anemic state. Can't wait for the hard freeze to end their little fkg lives. Haha, I'll be leaving the pigeons behind.
