Ok so i can keep it blowing out into the run area or move the fan to the square window blowing outside to the grass. Yep. Once you get it running with the fan blowing OUT, go to another window and see if you can "feel" the air "inflow" coming in. You may feel a gentle inflow of air or it might not be noticeable at all (depending what speed the fan is set on.) I usually keep my fan on medium speed, of course my fan is smaller and so is the coop, it's also very hot and humid even at night. You can set the speed on your fan at whatever you think is best. But where you live, it's probably much cooler at night and it might be best to run the fan on low or just turn it off altogether before your birds go to roost for the night. No matter how hot the air temp is or how gentle the outflow and inflow is; you'll have fresh air in your coop, and ammonia fumes from soiled bedding will be removed too. Flies and mosquitos dont like moving air neither, I guess it interferes with their flying ability lol.

At night in autumn it can get to 50 , in summer 70 to 90 at night. Today im actually raking out all the shavings on the floor . Sand is underneath and that should help too.

It does help to have a really powerful fan to suck the air out. The one in my old house was very powerful, and needed most of the house windows open. What a breeze!

I cleaned 98%of the shavings out, added 2 40 lb bags of pdz, have the fan on high blowing into the run. Flies are at a minimum right now.

Earlier I accidentally spilled what was left in a sack of layer crumbles in the shed and there were about 100 grain mites crawling in the spilled feed. I created one heckuva mess! UGH. I ended up tossing all of it in the garbage. I gotta make a trip to the feed store Tuesday. I'll open the sack and inspect it closely this time. Have you felt air coming in through the other windows while the fan was on? If so, I hope it was hardly noticeable.

When the nights are hot during the summer, you can leave your fan on, if you wish, without worrying about your birds sneezing or getting ill. 50...nice, we long for cooler temps like that. Send it down here! LOL.

Dawg I have taken bad feed back.
I hate spilling feed, LOL
I now have 5 baggies hung with water and a shiny penny about waist to armpit high on a string. I have noticeable reduction in flies on the food. I am surprised at the reduction.
With the stinky bags that hold 10,000 flies, it takes time to make a dent in the environment, but it does happen. Just think of all those flies that didn't reproduce etc. Do you have your bag or jar near the ground or up higher?

Well it's been 2 weeks I think and the five baggies of water are working. I do not have any flies! It's unreal with all the rain every day. But NO flies is somewhat of a miracle. I wonder where they go?

Spring? warms up? rain? Heck it's been like that here for months. I learned this trick from the barn my horse is at. They have a few hanging in the barn where people sit or hang out and ….. no flies in that area!

I take a ziplock bag, fill half with water, throw a shiny coin in there, and make a little hole in the corner for the string and hang it about waist/rib high. I am amazed at how it keeps the flies away. I have 5 hanging now. No stinky fly bait in the bag.

How high off the ground? I need to put them inside my coop. The flies are horrible in the coop itself
