Hello, I just signed up on Chicken Forum, but then saw you guys have moved? Is it a temporary glitch over there? It is like walking into the desert after knowing someone was there.  I have chickens and ducks. I am fairly new to both. But, love them both and their quirkiness.  |

Welcome to the forum. Chicken Forum went kaput on us, couldnt post nor message anyone. Thanks to Seminolewind (Karen,) we have this new forum. This forum is not as easy to post pics though...but I can live with it.

Where do you create a pic small enough for the avatar? Or would I just edit one with a photo app? All of the ones that I have tried are too big.

hit the profile click, then change profile click. You can up load from there.
To get a picture, go to your files on your computer, right click on the picture and sent to "paint" . On paint you can make it less pixels. I have had good luck with 1500 pixels but you may have to try a few times to get the pixels to translate to 100 x 100 mb.
There's a better way going thru Imgur.com. Much more user friendly. Then it gives you the up load address to use. Once you upload a pic there, it gives you options on sizes. Then pick the url that has the address , copy and paste on the forum under your change profile.
I normally print out instructions from people so I don't have to go back and forth.
Maybe someone can explain it better.
Chickenforum was a great place, but the admin and moderators just left in January without any warning. The top admin did not respond to messages in a longer and longer period. Then the board stopped posting and it took a week or more to get in touch with him. So we left. It's a shame but we've got 4 members here with ability to take care of anything .

I wonder why they left? The forum seems to be set up well and running, but I can see how it would be a problem if no one is around to fix it. |
