Clearing today and supposed to turn cooler, then a warm up. We had some rain yesterday, I'm glad we're not having the continual flooding rains like last spring!

No Dawg we got the continual flood rains for the past 4 months and it's been okay these past few weeks. But there is an area of lawn that still squishes when you walk on it. But the grass doesn't seem to mind.

I hear you ME, we've had that kind of weather all last fall and winter. It's still going too. Today was 63 and partly sunny, low 70's for the next few days then back down into the 40's o.O

74 and bright sun, it felt so nice! I actually got to work on the new coop today. I decided, with my limited space, to build a smaller coop and move the barred rocks into it (I have 2 left, they are 5 yrs old) and let the chicks have the big coop. We may have to make adjustments to the pop door to accommodate the jersey's but that'll be okay.

70 today. Im hoping the bad weather is done. My blind old hen is out on the back screened porch in a brooder . She can stay outside now till fall then come back in for winter. The brooder is bigger and easier for her to dust bathe then the rabbit cage in my living room. I showed her where the food, water and roost bar is and she memorized it all fast

I'll try to get pics tomorrow, I never think of it when I'm in the process. I will warn you though, it's tiny, when I did the area math I was thinking 4 ft square (as you should for a chicken) but I forgot to double it for 2 chickens lol so we are going to move the ducks into it, they are never in the coop and run unless the weather is bad and then at night when they just cuddle up and go to sleep. I figure it'll be okay since they like to nap in my greenhouse during the day which is 2 ft x 3 ft and they have plenty of room in there. The run is 4 ft x 8 feet but like I said, they are hardly ever in there. Then the BR's (my old girls) can have the much larger duck coop and run. If it becomes an issue we'll expand it but for now, with money being what it is, I can't afford materials for anything larger. The chicks will have the big coop and run (5ft by 6 ft coop and 5 ft by 10 ft run with access to the coop upstairs which gives an extra 5ft by 6ft of space) The coop and run is an A frame, I figured that would be faster and easier to build, easier and cheaper to heat in the winter.
Oh and the weather today was 75, we had rain in the early morning hours but it cleared out and was partly sunny most of the rest of today. This evening we got a couple of severe storms, hail, omg, it looked like it had snowed because of all of the hail, some of it was marble sized.
