Yesterday was one of those days where my gutter project needs to get done but I just sat there for hours working things out mentally. I feel like ripping the whole thing down and starting over, LOL

Yeah, Iowa is in state of emergency due to flooding, it's all over the news and even "The Weather Channel" did a whole thing on us for a day or two. But it was nice here again today and the yard is dry enough that we don't sink to the toes of our shoes in the back yard like a few days ago. The ducks are not happy that their natural swimming pool disappeared lol.

We only got to 41 today with rain showers off and on, it was raw and miserable. Thankfully I have the chicks temperature constant and comfy! They are doing fine but 3 of the 4 are slowly pulling away from me *sad face* Only Ann still loves me. I am seeing wattles on the SLW's....they are 3 weeks old and supposed to be pullets, isn't it a little soon for pullets to be showing wattles? I am so worried about roosters lol. Speaking of that, I'm pretty sure the one Jersey is a roo. When something startled them the other day, the 3 squatted down and he stood straight up and looked around. His legs appear thicker than the others and he does seem to stand up straighter most of the time. I don't see any wattles today on him but it's not looking good.

Oh sylie that sounds like a cockeral for the jersey giant. Did the place you got them from say they were females ? Are the wattles pink or bright red?

The jersey giant in question does not have wattles that I can see but he's not into being caught and held at the moment lol, little bugger is quick! The 2 wyandottes are the ones with wattles and they are yellow. As soon as I can catch that jersey without traumatizing the entire mini flock, I'll check for wattles but at this point, at arm's length, I do not see any wattles on him/her.
No, the jersey's were straight run, my husband picked them out, I warned him that straight run means we could get a boy and he said that was okay, we'd deal with it when the time came. The wyandottes on the other hand were sexed as pullets when I got them.

Yellow /pink wattles are normal at 3 weeks for some chicks. Id still it out. Those are probably hens. The JG wait until he/she crows. Then you will know. I had a 3 week old cockeral that crowed at 3 weeks old..

Both JG's and the wyandottes all have wattles, the suspected boy JG has slightly larger ones than the girls but keep in mind that I am pretty sure he is at least a week older than the girls. All wattles and combs are still yellow. I know that ultimately, I have to wait to hear a crow to know for sure but in the meantime, I just worry.
On the weather front, (since this is the weather chat...lol) it was partly sunny and 51 today. Not too bad for March.

We were in the low 50's today, the sun peeked out for about an hour in early afternoon but then the rain started and it has POURED ever since. Everything was just getting dried out and now we are flooded again. *sigh*. The ducks couldn't be happier though!

47 today and the low is supposed to get to 37 so that's not too awful, I'm glad the snow and ice are over and the temps are coming up little by little. They are showing a couple days this week in the low 70's but I'm not holding my breath.
