Hubs gives the chickens butter cookies every morning. Has for years now. My eggs taste real buttery. But as he's not here , today they got a pack of saltines and tomorrow they get those rice crispy treats that no one's eating. They did not like the cabbage leaves. Maybe cooked...……...

He thinks they're buttery. I heard about not feeding to many fishy products, I don't eat enough eggs to know, LOL

Wow. I'll have to try that. My chickens free range through the yard and eat the rose leaves- my poor roses are eaten down to the stem nearly. I put out Lettuce, Cabbage and other greens, but they don't like them. They do love watermelon, strawberries and cantaloupe. Buttery eggs sound yummy.

Looks like mine will eat the roses if they can reach them. I have some new roses right now and I can't wait for them to get tall enough so they can't reach them.
Yesterday I threw some branches with beans to the chickens. The beans were done. They didn't care for them. Later I see a silkie roo pick up a branch and carry it, drop it, and make the bok bok that calls the girls over when he finds a treat. He's such a liar! I actually seem to believe that the hens know when he's serious about an edible and when he's not. This time the hens didn't even turn around.

My broilers have started to get kitchen scraps. So far: rhubarb, strawberries, broccolini, onion, scallion, spinach. They MUCH prefer their feed, but the scraps are always gone when I go back. I also give them mealworm treats.
It took them about three days to realize the grass they are on, in the tractor, is edible...

Mine have access to the leftover garden greens but have not been in there. Of course there's only 3 that can wander over there!
