I stuck my head in this little coop for the eggs and heard rustling. Turns out there was a young possum between the hardware cloth and roofing. Looked like a friggin rat at first. I think this handyman that's doing work for me will end up taking it down for me. I'm just going to make another covered pen.

I caught a young possum in a rat trap once. I thought it was a rat also.

When I was 18 and in my first apartment in a 100 year old house, I opened the kitchen cabinet one night and there were 3 "rats" in there and I screamed and jumped on a chair. But got to thinking and something didn't seem right with their features even tho I had never seen a possum before, LOL.

When we first moved into this house the floor under my kitchen sink was completely rotted away, you could see right to the ground. One night I heard scratching noises under there so I looked and sure enough, a possum was there, we let her stay because they are really good for the garden.

LOL. But bad for horses. Their urine can carry a deadly illness if they pee on hay.

LOL. But bad for horses. Their urine can carry a deadly illness if they pee on hay. hmm, I never heard that before. After we found that one under our sink I did HOURS of research on them to see if we should kill it or catch and release or what and I never came across that, interesting! Maybe I need to do more research!! (I LOVE research, I'm always researching things, I'll spend days reading article after article and taking notes etc on any given topic)
