So. My husband brought home a puppy yesterday. ...that i didnt want... sigh..
A 2 month old kangal maremma mix male... he is around 25-30 lbs right now.. its supposed to be his dog that he wanted... yet im taking care of it.. yes the pup is cute. But i really didnt want a puppy let alone a LGD.. these dogs need super socializing with everyone as they take their job of guarding livestock seriously... this pup has lived outside 24/7 with its mother and siblings since born with chickens and goats( the breeder lives a few blocks away so im familiar with the people and the dogs ,which are sweet parents of the pups.). But i cant leave a 2 month old puppy outside in a coop or dog house alone.. so he is learning that bedtime means in the house in a large crate next to my bed.. .
Since my husband has a traumatic brain injury i have to be careful what i say as his injury causes him to hear only certain things... so i now have a puppy....that i have to super socialize due to both of its breeds.
The other black dog and white dog a friend came over with so the puppy got to meet w other dogs. Another friend came over with her 6 month old gsd and duke was terrified of her. She was very aggressive with meeting duke so i took him out of the yard and my husband watched him.. i dont need bad experiences with other dogs. The other 2 dogs were very friendly with duke, but once the gsd puppy showed up things changed and i didnt like it.
