I left some wonderful doctors in Florida and here in Kentuckiana (near Louisville in Indiana) it's nothing but awful. Any doc I call has a 2 month waiting list for new patients. I'm still waiting for my appt. with a Nurse Practicioner (sp) instead of a doc because it was easier to get and this is just for general practice.
The other one is a shrink. I have antidepressants . I get an appt. with one 90 days ago. I got an appt. because she doesn't take insurance. But one of the meds she wrote for was written for once a day when it should have been twice a day so I'm calling since last Friday (8 days now) trying to get a refill and have the doc note the error and refill the script. No one calls me back. A secretary called me once and said she'll pass the message on. No call. What do you do when a doc doesn't return calls? Now I'm waiting for a new group to call me back . This is insane. Is the rest of the country like this?

Seems everyone here has a 2 month wait. Another person complained about her too not calling. She said she was without a very needed med for weeks before that doc called. The doc told this person "well, I do only work part time". So far I've called about 12 psych-docs yesterday with nothing. Many require counseling prior to giving you meds. Good Gawd, I've been on these meds for 15 years, and I don't need counseling.
Or they're supposed to call back but don't. So I've gone thru 2 doc groups . Now I'm starting on ones that may not take my insurance. Then there's the hope that this nurse practitioner next month can write for these antidepression meds. They are not a controlled substance. Maybe I can get all my pills from one person!
