Dawg, I think if it were life threatening, they would have made an exception lol but for an injured back, he was supposed to see the company doctor first apparently. The man couldn't breathe he was in so much pain, he couldn't walk, he couldn't do anything but he was supposed to wait 5 days for her to get off vacation. oooookay....
ME, I wasn't in on the meeting with HR, I just know what my husband told me when he came out of the meeting. As far as I know, it's what the HR person told him and the claim did not go to the WC people.
Sue, I have some writing experience but nothing published at this point, I have 2 manuscripts waiting for money to be published. I have tried self publishing but you have to have special software to convert to mobi or whatever and I can't afford that. As for blogging, I do have a couple of blogs but have no clue how to make money from them. Maybe I should research that.
Depending on your style of writing, you could submit to various magazines - Practical Poultry, Countryside Network etc. It can be difficult to break into - you have to be persistent - a bit like herpes!!
My blogging gig has been going for 3+ years now and it was entirely happenstance, so be a pest! My biggest learning curve was the style of writing. If you want some tips or have questions - pm me.
Check out blogs too, some will ask for articles. Mother Earth News publishes reader blogs - but they don't pay. Could be good experience to start with.
