A few of my Polish got old, like 10 and 11 years old. They seemed to develop the same habits. On both, their eyesight went so I don't move the bowls. My Princess now hears the crack being put in the bowl and makes a bee line. Then I watch her bob lower and lower til she hits the food. Same with the water. So I keep the bowls full. Lately I've seen her make a dust bath out of shavings and actually peck at the ground. Behaviors that occasionally pop up. The other day I put her out with my psycho Houdan and a silkie and they did well together.
What quirks do other people have with their really elderly?

My 10 year old hens would attempt to fly to me (touch and goes like planes aboard a Navy aircraft carrier) from the bottom of our yard up to the house when I'd rattle a bag of crack. It was a barrel of laughs watching them trying to fly lol. Of course the younger birds could fly about 2 feet of the ground, except the Hamburgs and Leghorns...they could fly much higher.

It's fun when they come running! I love watching touch and goes. Must be great to see it on a carrier.
