I love Houdans. The only one offering sexed females is mcmc. And it was before April so I would have to get 30 chicks. Anyhow, they changed or updated the amounts! And had a hatch March 25, which is a minimum of 30 , and May 13-which is 15 minimum. Yeah! I'm getting 6 Houdans, 6 Barred rocks and 3 buff Orpingtons. I figure it will be easy to sell the overage chicks so I just got BR's and BO's.
This comes at a good time.

She sounds about ready to take the plunge Then take her to feathersite and let her "choose" what she wants "uh-huh". There is one very special rule of mine with BR's they all get named Fern. |

Years ago someone on BYC did a little picture story about Fern the BR. If there was a flowerpot, it was knocked over. Fern investigated everything. The last picture was Fern walking on top of a fence taken from the back and the caption was "Does my butt look big?"
Silly but I just thought Fern was the perfect name for a BR. Makes no sense, right?

Here's Big Girl perching on the motorcycle handlebar. Then she took one look at the "skull" paint job on the gas tank. I think it was an 'eye opening' experience for her LOL.   |
