I had extra "Amazon" money so I ended up buying one of those round vacuum things that runs around the house. Thoughts. I have darkish floors and it works well on picking up dust and crumbs so the floors look great. It runs for 90 minutes and I have no idea how it decides the pattern it cleans on. We have to move things around a bit so it doesn't get stuck or gobble cords.
I'm sure my floors will need a damp mop now and then and the corners everywhere wiped. It cleans surface dirt on the rugs but they probably need a good vacuuming at times as well. So it does a good job in between major cleanings. It's entertaining. It finds it's way back to the charger. On occasion it's not so smart and can't work itself out of a tight spot but not enough to be annoying.
This one sells for $200. An acquaintance of mine has an $800 one that he can track, change directions on his cell phone. And it tells him what's been done or not. Kinda interesting.
I's kindof a novelty. Works well on floors but superficial on rugs.
Would I buy again? I don't know. It does work especially on bare floors. It does do rugs. It extends the time between real cleanings and is great before company coming.

Of course! Large poodle, thinks she's a lap dog. And she does find the robo-vacuum interesting, LOL
