The chick is sorta eating. I ground up the food to powder since the chicks hatched so small. It looks deformed due to the membrane drying on it. I keep dipping its beak in the vitamin water just to make sure it learns. Im hoping it survives. I checked the 3 remaining eggs and one has a live chick inside, but it didnt pip yet. I got the eggs may 24 and put them in the incubator that night. Im hoping it pips externally and not internally. The other 2 eggs are possibly DOA but since 1 has a chick peeping im leaving all 3 eggs in the incubator for 5 days

And another egg pipped. Last 3. 2 are not alive but the 3rd one is. So the incubator is still on

I love Ameraucanas. My heart still breaks for my Valerie who was an Ameraucana from Speckledhen on another forum. Aside from not liking to be held she was one of the sweetest most loved chickens I ever had . Speckledhen still has her full sister named Gypsy. So at some point in time I may be looking for a few Ameraucanas.

I helped it out, it twisted and couldnt find the pipped hole. When i got it oit of the shell it was gasping for air. Its neck is crooked and cant stand and its been almost 24 hours. Im giving it vitamin e and selenium paste to see how it does. Ill be at work all day so i wont be able to give it the paste but will see if my husband can
