I've boarded at this barn since 2008 except for 3 years. I have never had a problem. about 30 people keep their tack in a room. Most of one's horse supplies like brushes are usually kept in like a housecleaning caddy.
2 weeks ago I notice my mane hairbrush isn't there. I search all over thinking I may have left it on the floor, which would be unusual for me as I use things and drop them back into the caddy. Last week my horse body brush isn't there. Now I'm thinking that's quite a coincidence. I put all my stuff in a tool box and set it up so I'll know if someone goes in there. It's cheap stuff, but darnit, it's stuff I use every time I'm there. So the story will continue.

Yea. Well I'm still waiting for someone to open my box. It's not like the brush was special or anything. There are a bunch all over the place of the same thing. I think they're just the barn stuff.

Perhaps someone used it and forgot to put it back?

Well I can see it happening once . But 1-2 weeks later again? These are not expensive items which would lead me to believe that someone has a klepto problem. So I just keep setting up my box and see if anything else goes missing.
I asked 2 other ladies that don't talk much to anyone and they haven't had a problem that I know of. I'm thinking of just taking my bridle home because it was so expensive I don't tell anyone the price, LOL. That was when I had money,LOL. But I have experienced cheap , moderate, and expensive bridles and the pricey ones do look like brand new a very long time.
