Fishing

Yesterday I drove up to the Yulee, Florida courthouse and got my free beach pass to drive on the beach with my truck. Then drove up to St Mary's, Georgia Walmart and got my fishing license, that's for when I take my boat up there and go fishing. Early Thursday morning I'm driving up to the south end of Amelia Island on the beach and do some fishing off the beach. I know a good spot where to fish when I fished there years ago. I'll bring my camera and take a few pics. I'll be loading up the truck this afternoon.

Sounds like fun!!!We went to new place Sat night.Once again,I found the spot where the turtles hang out and eat your bait.Only nibbles I got but there were some really big fish jumping out there.

I went fishing early this morning. The beach where I wanted to fish was blocked off due to nesting birds. So, I just fished right where it was blocked off. I caught a few fish in several hours. I had several throw backs because they were undersized including a nice 15" Redfish grrr. We're having fish for supper tomorrow afternoon.

I got the boat loaded up and heading out early in the morning to the jetties between Georgia and Florida.

Boy you are sure putting that boat/motor to some good use. Especially that new motor. Must be nice. I wish/I will find some boat in the future. I miss the water.

We had a good day fishing at the jetties. I caught a nice 18.5' Redfish, Whiting and Pigfish...all great eating. We threw back alot of small Whiting. They wont be small in the coming months, that's for sure.

That's great! The closest I've come recently is going to a fish restaurant and having a mix of fish and shellfish in marinara which was absolutely yummy. "Sigh", one day I'll catch something to eat.

I'm going to talk to my vet friend across the street tomorrow and see if he wants to go fishing in the boat again next Monday. He earned his sea legs last time and didnt get seasick, not bad for an ex-jarhead.

We're going fishing early in the morning, not in the boat this time. We're going to the south end of Amelia Island at the beach like before. I'll post some pics if we catch any fish.

We went to the ocean front at Amelia Island initially and didnt do well at all. I caught a 10 pound stingray lol. We then moved to our favorite spot and caught quite a few throwbacks including Jack Cravelle, a crab, and a few small Whiting. We did catch 6 decent Whiting and they are in my freezer ready to be cooked lol.

Whiting I know. The rest of the fish you catch I know nothing about like taste etc. But all your fish talking made me crave fish.

So I went to the fresh fish market and bought 1lb of each: Grouper, Cod, Flounder, sea scallops. I've never had cod or grouper.

We had grouper last night baked with spices and butter. OMG!!! My favorite fish! I can't believe how good this was. I could have eaten more than the 1/2 pound I had. I will be going back there for more.
Wow. Flaky, mild, good taste. I wonder if I can catch them on one of those party boats.

I was fishing from a naval pier in Key West once and caught a 10 pound Grouper. I dont know what type of Grouper it was, but it was like pulling up a rock with an occasional wiggle. I gave it to a friend of mine while I was visiting them.

Yeah , but I was just visiting and my friend had a wife and a bunch of younguns. He gladly kept the fish for them to eat at a later time. I wish I couldve caught several more to give to him.
