It's cooler at night and those young people stay up later than us "old" people.I know by 10 pm I'm ready for bed. You're right about the boyfriend/husband usually being the suspect but people are going crazy and are bold about it.Over the weekend,a 17 y o grabbed a 10 y o at a local store,in broad day light, and tried to take her.If not for other patrons,he may have been successful but some guys stopped him in the parking lot and held him until police arrived.A happy ending to a scary story. It's a dangerous world out there.People need to arm themselves, even if it's just pepper spray,it will stop a perpetrator trying to do you harm.

If we had street lights here, and I were apt to want to run (not with these knees, I don't -- I joke that I'll have to be the zombie sacrifice so everyone else can get away...) 10 pm would be fine during the recent heat. I'm willing to take walks and strolls at that time (again, given a street light or two), so I can understand wanting to be out at that hour.
Chickenqueen, a potentially horrible story... but with a good ending. Still, traumatic for the poor kid.

I am very happy to live in Florida and have a license for concealed carry and can stand your/my ground.
I wonder why Mollie's cell phone couldn't track her. That to me is weird. Can't tell me she turned it off to run.

Hmm, Seminolewind… good point. I don't think about that because around my new home cell reception is vestigial. And I spent years working at a company prior to retirement where cellular signals could not pass through the cinderblock walls, so I usually left the thing in the car. But Iowa is flat and so presumably outdoors there'd be great cell reception.

Sometimes if you don't have wifi, data or location turned on, your gps won't work either, I know that's how my phone is. Maybe she didn't have data or location turned on? I've been following this story too, of course, it's all over every news station in the state.

It appears that she did get home after her run prior to disappearing. I still think it's the boyfriend. I think the police know it as well.
