They always seem to pip at "2 oclock" on fat side of the egg. I find if the pip is under the egg, there's a problem.

Yeah sylie you saw my post and came here!!! Egg 2 pipped and hatched just now I dont know how to add pictures here yet though Yes I did! Thank you for directing me. I found (by accident) another chickenkeepers forum here, it only has the one member (well, besides me now because I thought that forum was this one originally) and there is zero activity on it. I'm glad that you gave me the right address. Congratz on the 2 that have hatched! They are sooooo cute! I think breda's are awesome, I'm all about the "different". I really like the nostril thing. My husband really wants me to get rid of Opal and Genevieve (my 2 d'Uccle's), Opal only crows 5 or 6 times, every other day but Genevieve will crow for half an hour straight every single day. They don't crow any other time of day so that's good. My son says they should not be named Opal and Genevieve because those are girl names so he calls them Greg and George.

Lol thanks! So far ive hatched 13 4 weeks ago and now these 3 . I have 1 pipped . Lockdown is actually tonight for my 7 lavender ameracauna eggs lol... I ordered a small chick coop and run on amazon to put the 13 chicks on the porch in, this way it frees up 2 brooders as i have 2 together to give the 13 4 week olds room, mork my one rooster is in another brooder as he has scaly leg mites. Once the last eggs hatch im done for the season as that will make (if all hatch) 24 chicks ive hatched so far lol.

What do you do with all the chickens? Pipping at 2 oclock. I realized one day that the hatched ones rolled an egg around, and the chick pipped underneath and died. So I started to make sure that they stayed in position during hatching with little Styrofoam rings. And noticed most pips are at "2 oclock".
Glad your getting chicks!
