My second oldest hen, 10 1/2 yrs old. She went blind a year or two ago and had a friend, Hannah, who showed her where the food water and bed were. Goldy was one of 3 sisters, and I have one left, Princess Fluffy Britches. I moved Hannah in with the Princess so she would think she was familiar. Goldy to the far right Hannah the caretaker

How do you hit "like" in this forum?
That's so sweet, that one bird would show your blind hen where food and water was!
I am sorry for your loss. She looks like a wonderful avian companion.

She's moved in with Goldy's sister, Princess fluffy britches. I wanted her to feel comfy.
In the top right corner of posts there's a symbol with a thumbs up for "like". Next to it is a smiley face for "LOL"

I learned early that chickens know when someone is missing. My silkies would stand by the gate every day for days if someone was not there. It was sad. One silkie hen went catatonic and I had to put her down. Nowdays I notice it in others, not as noticeable.

I'm sorry I missed this Karen. First Mariska and now Goldy, a double whammy. It hurts and I wish you the best.
