I have no luck whatsoever with Adam's or Sevin spray. The fleas did nothing but increase in number. Here I treated Hannah twice with those and continued to shake her head and be weak. Yesterday she and a total of 16 got treated with Ultra Shield for horses, which is Permethrin, Pyrethrin, and Butol Pi... (sp?) . I think that's the end of the line as far as treatment goes. Then they were put back in pens that were treated with Bayer ground spray. The stuff is good with soil which is great. I think it has a residual effect too. 10 changed to a new pen. The next step will be to freeze the little suckers.

I love Virbac. Its great for dogs as they made tick collars and spraying the yard. I dont know if it will kill stick tight fleas though.

I'm glad to be away from pesticides for the most part. I still wonder if all those treatments with all those chemicals on their scalps damaged them internally, like liver damage. I have one that appears jaundiced but I'm in denial about it. She was treated a lot. It was either a choice between anemia or potential chemical poisoning. I'm glad to be out of that situation. And the residual damage of the neighbor's 6 years of feed spewed everywhere and producing hundreds of rats.

The man had a coop with feed spewed all over the place and never cleaned it up.

The man had a coop with feed spewed all over the place and never cleaned it up. That's nuts. Did you get a chance to talk to him about it while you were there? Seems like he had a lack of common sense or just didnt care.

He had a lack of common sense and didn't speak any English (living here over 10 yrs). And was one of those needy/chatty people and I avoided him.

I just hate those fleas... They are a big problem in our area, especially when it's warm. They multiply so rapidly that we have to check their presence all the time. Here is the article where a lot of different ant-flea remedies described. I know that the scent of vinegar can scare those insects off.

Welcome to the forum Lazylm. What state do live? I'm in Jacksonville,Fl. Fortunately we dont have a problem with stick tight fleas around here. However it seems they start up around Keystone Heights and southward. Seminolewind used to live down in High Springs, Fl and she had plenty of problems with them.

Yea they were the worst. Blood suckling anemia causing, easy to kill but hard to get rid of. A few weeks later they are infesting again.
