All Bredas looking good, fingers & toes crossed.

I am Sooo sorry! I've been there with Mareks, through not knowing why I was losing a chicken to wasting, to discovering what virus is killing my flock, to attempting saving them, to vaccination of day Olds and things becoming more stable. No one is actually dying from Marek's anymore, but sometimes someone's immune system is letting them get sick from common ailments.
I think that with ME and possibly Boskelli, I think the Marek's makes them less able to battle whatever other ailment they have. They just have no resistance.
Is there a vaccine for those respiratory ailments like with Marek's?
It's a shame that the commercial poultry businesses have learned what it takes to produce healthy chickens. But us back yarders are the newbies with a newer situation where chickens are kept for longer than 2 yrs, and backyard flocks get additions of new chickens that become deadly to all of them.
It's just plain sad. My saving grace (only option) is to close my flock to all but vaccinated hatchery chicks, or hatching eggs and vaccinating. But now I do worry about those vertically spread diseases and there's no saving from that.
