I'm editing to say that I forgot to mention that EVERYONE can post recipes here.
Apparently I can't make a new board so I will just make the recipe thread here
I'll start:
Cheesy Chili Hash Brown bake:
Serves 6-8 depending on how large you portion Oven temp: 425 Bake time: 35 minutes
Ingredients:
1 1/2 pounds ground beef, pork or turkey 1 15.5 oz can sloppy joe sauce 1 15 oz can chili 4 cups frozen, shredded hash browns 2 cups shredded cheese (usually cheddar but feel free to sub your favorite)
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 425 Brown the ground meat until no longer pink (obviously) Drain if you need to Stir in the sloppy joe sauce and the chili Pour mixture into a cake pan, 13x9 Top with frozen hash browns Bake covered for 30 minutes Uncover, sprinkle cheese on top Bake 5 more minutes or until cheese is melted Eat!
You can also make the sloppy joe sauce and chili from scratch if you like, you don't have to use canned.

Great! Can you copy and paste the Bourbon chicken to a post here? I have some to add as well.
I need some smoker stuff like including times and temp and if you say ribs please say what type.
I've been watching Zimmern (strange foods) and some look just plain good and not strange. He has eaten some really fantastic stuff . I won't eat eyeballs spleen brain snout or feet.

Bourbon Street Pork/chicken
1 lb ground pork cooked or 2 large pork chops fried and diced/ 6 frozen chicken thighs 1 clove chopped garlic or 1 TBSP granulated garlic 1/4 tsp ground ginger (I use a little more because we love ginger) 1/4 cup apple juice 1/4 cup packed brown sugar 2 TBSP ketchup 1 TBSP apple cider vinegar 1/2 cup water 1/3 cup soy sauce
cook ground pork or pork chops, dice the chops (chicken instructions at the end) combine all of the ingredients, mix well, add to the pork in the pan and cook until 1/2 the moisture is gone serve over rice
for chicken: put the raw chicken in a baking pan combine all the ingredients and pour over the chicken, bake at 350 for 15 minutes per pound or until the chicken is done (165 degrees away from the bone) serve with whatever side dish you like. The juice makes a great gravy for mashed potatoes, rice or noodles.
This recipe can also be done in the crock pot: add raw meat of choice to the crock pot combine ingredients, pour over meat cook on low 8 hours
The crockpot part of the recipe I got online, the rest of it is something I played with and figured out myself since I rarely use a crock pot.

Not a recipe but chicken breast to me was a leave it meat. Tough thick dry and tasteless- until I bought the hammer. I pounded that breast as thin as I could, breaded and fried it. It came out like a schnitzel and darn good. Applesauce or lemon.
I went and got hubs a smoker for father's day and told him my chicken buddies online had recipes for him since we'll be newbies . I wonder how lamb shanks would come out?

I love chicken breast, I don't find it dry like most people do. I have been known (ahem, lunch yesterday) to microwave one right from the freezer and eat it unseasoned, plain, just like that.

nooooooo, yummy! Some times I might season it, a little garlic, onion, sage, rosemary, maybe a little pepper. But usually just plain.

Here is another good recipe:Salisbury SteaksINGREDIENTSPatties: 1 lb Lean Ground Beef 1/3 cup Bread Crumbs 2 tsp Ketchup 1 tsp Mustard 1 tsp Worcestershire 1/2 tsp Garlic Powder 1/2 tsp Onion Powder Gravy: 2 packets Brown Gravy Mix 2 cup hot Water 1 tsp Ketchup 1/2 tsp Worcestershire Combine all patty ingredients in a large bowl and massage with your hands until ingredients are incorporated. Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Cook patties on both sides until no longer pink. Lower temperature to low. Whisk together gravy mix and water until well blended. Whisk in ketchup and Worcestershire and pour over patties in skillet. Allow to simmer until gravy warms and thickens. You can always make the gravy from scratch if you like. Sometimes I use fresh garlic and onion, depends on how lazy I feel that day lol

Yum sounds like comfort food.
I made a meal's worth of yellow beans last week. Yes I could have just boiled them. But instead I sautéed some onion and garlic in olive oil, added the beans, cut up a tomato and added it. When all was nicely sautéed, I put water to cover and covered and simmered for 20 minutes. S&P to taste. How's that for non boring beans?

When you're ready to start smoking,I'll tell you what to do.Ribs are super easy.I usually just S&P them and smoke away.I have a really good recipe for smoked pork shoulder/butt for pulled pork. It's a three step process but easy and you can pick them up cheap.I've never smoked lamb but I'm sure it will be delicious. If I were you,I'd start with something cheap and easy, like pork or chicken, until you get the feeling for smoking. Then the sky's the limit.PS-I got an excellent recipe to corn your own beef brisket. It takes a few days but after making the solution, you just have to turn it once a day for at least 5 days then smoke it or cook it how you want. What kind of smoker did you buy him?

New Recipe for you
Split Pea Soup - crock pot

He made ribs but they came out not really tender and real dry and crispy on the outside. I think he did around 230 for 5 hours. Maybe we should have wrapped them for a while? They sure tasted good tho and we ate them all!

Yesterday we had a treat. Filet Mignon on the grill. Medium inside. Like butter. I love charcoal grilled. I also made a Bulgur wheat salad. I'll write the recipe adjusted as I would do.
1cup coarse bulgur pour 1 cup of boiling water over it , cover and leave sit for an hour.
In a bowl:
1 - 1.5 chopped or minced onion, and 1 pepper (of choice) minced
3 medium tomatoes chopped
2 cloves garlic smashed and minced 1/2- to 1 tsp salt (taste) 1/2 tsp of cumin 1/3 bunch of parsley , no stems, chopped
1/2 to 1 tsp black pepper or any pepper you like
4 tbls olive oil, 4 tbls fresh lemon juice
I added about 3/4 cup of crumbled feta cheese.
Mix the bulgur in. Let sit for a bit. Eat!
The recipe I followed really needed some tinkering. it's got some real good flavor. I wonder if it would work with couscous.
* I made this with Quinoa today and it was better. Still want to try Couscous. I think the bulgur is too small and nutty. I'm not sure I'm a fan. I might end up loving rice the most since I do ! I could eat rice all day.
